INCORPORATING some of the best known Gershwin melodies, Crazy For You is a vibrant and colourful extravaganza. Wezley Sebastian created a real feast of movement with some ambitious and demanding choreography, although at times the company struggled to remember all the routines.
Ben James (Bobby) sang and danced with enthusiasm throughout. A beautifully modulated routine with Danny Owen (Zangler) had just the right amount of drunken lack of control. The fluid and relaxed style suited his talents well. Sarah Murray (Polly) gave an energetic and enjoyable performance. However, her relationship with Bobby lacked chemistry despite the excellent dance routines. There were some technical difficulties and the set, although effective, seemed too large for the stage and caused problems for the company. The sound was a little bit disappointing, though the performers did their best with the support of the excellent orchestra under the musical direction of Susan Denison Burnett. Ends Saturday. Fareham Musical Society Ferneham Hall Gwen Moulster
