SAINTS starlets Chris Baird and Alan Blayney are poised to face Sven Goran-Eriksson's England in a World Cup qualifier.

The duo have rarely featured for the Saints first-team but have both been selected in the Northern Ireland squad which faces England at Old Trafford on Saturday week, March 26.

Goalkeeper Blayney is on standby although fullback Baird is likely to add to his 13 caps. Northern Ireland travel to Poland for their game on March 30.

Anders Svensson and Mikael Nilsson have both been called up by Sweden to face Bulgaria next Saturday.

Antti Niemi, meanwhile, is in the Finland squad to play the Czech Republic.

Midfielders Neil McCann and Nigel Quashie have both been selected for the Scotland squad to face Italy in Milan.

Henri Camara will be with Senegal against Liberia in Dakar.

Kenwyne Jones, who is currently on loan at Stoke, has been selected in the Trinidad and Tobago squad to face Guatemala and Costa Rica.

Yoann Folly, who is on loan at Preston, is in the French under-21 squad to face Switzerland in Troyes on March 25 and Israel in Herzelya four days later. Centre-backs Martin Cranie and Matthew Mills are in the England under-19 squad and winger Theo Walcott is in the England under-17 squad.

Nathan Dyer is in the England under-18 training squad while schoolboy midfielder Jake Thompson is in the England under-16 squad.
