INDIE rock-pop favourites Supergrass and melodic Scot punksters Idlewild have been added to the list of bands playing at this summer's Nokia Isle of Wight Festival.
The two groups will play on the opening day of the festival, which runs from June 10 to 12, at Newport's Seaclose Park and is expected to attract 35,000 music fans.
The only remaining headliners to be announced are for the Saturday night. Confirmed acts so far include Faithless and Razorlight, who play on the Friday night, and American rock giants REM, who will close the festival. Embrace and Snow Patrol will also perform on the Sunday.
Supergrass are one of the only remaining bands from the Britpop era. They crashed into the charts in 1995 with their catchy, summer pop hit Alright and since then have had four top ten albums.
Despite releasing their first single seven years ago, Idlewild remain one of the bright hopes of British guitar music. Their new album Warnings/Promises has been showered with acclaim by critics, even bagging an unprecedented nine out of ten from rock bible NME.
Tickets with camping for the weekend are £90. Contact 08705 321 321.
