THE City of Southampton club came up trumps at the Hampshire Relays Championships with the men's 400m medley team stealing the show with a storming victory.

Luke Horswell, Chris Jones, Alex Reeves, Alistair Garmendia collected their gold medals and cup as City managed to qualify for ten finals.

In the men's 800m freestyle, Alistair Garmendia, Chris Jones, Joshua Willcocks and Alex Reeves gained silver medals while Alex Reeves, Luke Horswell, Chris Jones and Alistair Garmendia went on to take bronze in the 400m freestyle.

The girls 15 and under team (Hayley Couchman, Sammy Windebank, Jo Jeffcoate and Charlotte Slater) came second in both medley and freestyle finals while the women's 800m freestyle A team of Gail Strobridge, Emma Macey, Charlotte Slater and Jo Jeffcoate produced an excellent swim to collect bronze medals. The B team finished sixth.

The same girls went one better for silver medals in the 400m medley and freestyle events.

In their first major competition, the girls 9-11 years team (Rebecca Foy, Abigail Slater, Zoe Miller and Hannah Husband) came sixth, having done well to reach the freestyle final.
