SAINTS have been handed a double boost ahead of their vital Premiership trip to Middlesbrough on Sunday.

All four of their injury doubts look set to be fit for the trip to the Riverside while Boro have been rocked by the news that they could be missing star striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

For Saints, Jamie Redknapp and Graeme Le Saux are recovering well from knee and Achilles injuries respectively and should resume training shortly.

Rory Delap's sore ankle is getting better and he should be ready for the trip to the North East while Claus Lundekvam is over the virus that forced him off at half time during the 4-0 FA Cup quarter-final defeat against Manchester United. The other three players weren't fit to start.

Add to that the return of cup tied Nigel Quashie and Harry Redknapp's side is suddenly looking a lot healthier.

The same cannot be said of Boro who look set to be without top scorer Hasselbaink, who has injured his knee in training.

Australian striker Mark Viduka is also a massive doubt while Malcolm Christie has a long term injury so it may leave Steve McClaren with just three strikers - Joseph Desire Job, Szilard Nemeth and Danny Graham - to choose from.

On top of that Gaizka Mendieta, Ugo Ehiogu, George Boateng and James Morrison are also out while there are major doubts over Michael Reiziger and Ray Parlour.

A Middlesbrough spokesman said: "Jimmy has damaged a knee in training and will have scans. He is definitely out of our UEFA Cup game in Lisbon tomorrow and is a doubt for Sunday."

Middlesbrough will also be hoping to avoid further injuries when they take on Sporting Lisbon in Portugal tomorrow night. They trail 3-2 from the first leg.

Meanwhile, Saints midfield duo Neil McCann and Quashie have been called up to the Scotland squad to face Italy at the San Siro on March 26.
