STAFF at the Solent office of Rok and the Southampton office of Rokeagle are celebrating after bosses rewarded their contribution to a bumper set of company profits with an extra day's holiday.
Each of the firm's 121 staff in the region will get an extra day of annual leave to add to their standard allocation of 24 after the company announced record results for the fourth year on the trot.
Rok property solutions unveiled pre-tax profits of £13.9 million, 21 per cent up on 2003 figures. Turnover too jumped 30 per cent to £494.5m, up from £380m.
Chairman Bob Carlton-Porter described the construction firm - which is involved in an array of local projects, from the new Pentagon Mercedes dealership in Winchester to refurbishing a nursing home in Romsey for Testway Housing - as having a unique culture that is essential to its service.
Chief executive Garvis Snook was prompted to give all the firm's 1,900 UK staff an extra day's holiday to "celebrate this year's results, the company's recent placement in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For list and the fact that Rok's share price went through the 500p barrier for the first time".
This year has seen the firm move to new offices it built for itself on Solent business Park and Rok has also completed the construction of a further phase of The Links Business Park at Whiteley.
Andrew Riggs, business development team leader at Rok's Solent office, said: "The Solent centre's staff are proud of the major contribution they've made to this great set of results."
The group's development arm Rokeagle also had a successful year, increasing its turnover by 19 per cent to £60.3 million, and operating profits by 36 per cent to £9 million.
