Sir.-A pebble tossed into Tadley's pond has produced a disproportionate ripple on behalf of our town council.
It hints that spin has reached this shire.
Anyone who follows the reports of local events and developments is more than aware of the improvements and problems which have benefited and beset Tadley over recent years, and where the bouquets and brickbats are due.
However, facts are facts and "inconvenience, irritation, expense and loss of trade" provides fair comment of the disruption to Tadley life over 13 of the last 18 months, and ongoing.
But when was the blame for this laid at the doorstep of our council offices?
What is called into question is the present structure of local government in England, with responsibility so divorced from locality in certain significant matters.
-Mike Herbert, Wickham Close, Tadley.
