HORSE fouling: To the rider who rode their horse up the pavement outside the Village Club last Saturday and left a trail of horse dung over about 20 yards of pavement, it may surprise you to know that we no longer have large numbers of old ladies hiding behind lace curtains to rush out with a bucket and spade and gather the product up for their roses.
If you are going to ride on the pavements, which I understand is against the law, then you should be equipped to clear up your own fouling.
FLEA market: Molly and Maisie's sale of treasures/ junk in aid of the hospice is on Saturday, March 19, at 2pm, at the Village Club.
As usual, they have garnered an enormous pile of items for sale, but if you wish to add to it, call Molly on 298684.
CINEMA: There will be a demonstration evening of the new equipment on Friday, March 25, in the Village Club, aimed at potential committee members for the film club.
To be involved, call Susie Allam on 297849.
SILCHESTER: Amanda Clarke, who is director of archaeological fieldwork at the University of Reading, will be talking to the Heritage Association about the current Silchester excavation at the Village Club on Thursday, at 7.30pm.
The meeting is open to anyone interested.
