IT WAS the quintessential English tea party - with a twist.
A Queen lookalike making a brew from the world's most expensive teabag had shoppers at WestQuay in Southampton looking twice in amazement.
But the £7,500 diamond-encrusted teabag is just part of the celebrations for PG Tips' 75th birthday.
The bag, which contains 280 diamonds, will be auctioned in aid of a Manchester children's charity after it has finished its tour of the country.
An animal rights activist was evicted from the shopping centre after smashing two photographs featuring the PG Tips chimpanzees, which shot to fame in TV adverts.
Before being led out of WestQuay by security staff, the man shouted that the company was promoting animal exploitation.
PG Tips will not be pressing charges.
