THE ISLE of Wight Council's publications unit has launched a Plain English Guide to help improve county communication with the public.
The guide is designed to help staff and councillors develop a more clear and concise way of communicating with residents in letters and council reports by avoiding jargon.
Isle of Wight Council leader Councillor Shirley Smart said: "Many of us may be guilty from time to time of writing material that is quite frankly gobbledegook and I am sure that this guide will help us all."
