SINGER-songwriter Emily Slade brings her striking voice and mellow guitar strums to the Ashcroft Arts Centre in Fareham on Saturday.

The partnership between Emily's enchanting voice and intricate guitar playing are rarely found in one person, making her a truly captivating performer.

Widely hailed as an intelligent contemporary British songwriter, her songs approach modern-day issues relating to real people: intelligent, never militant; poetic, never soppy!

Emily took up the acoustic guitar at the age of nine, making her stage debut that same year. During her final year at university she launched her record label, Rustic Thorn Records, to release a five-track EP.

Eighteen months later she released her debut album, Shire Boy, to critical acclaim. A nomination for the BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award soon followed, as well as an intensive solo touring schedule in the UK and United States.

Her winning personality and presence have endeared her to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
