Solent 2nds 83 - Reading 53
ANDY AUNG'S early burst helped Solent Stars 2nd team clinch the National League Division 3 East title.
Aung bagged half of Solent's first 26 points as they romped to an 83-53 victory over rock bottom Reading Rocket 2nds.
The starting five of Aung, Clayton Milner, Liam Wyatt, Dave McKay and Ryan Payne were all impressive before Paul Loosemore and Craig Dawson, shepherded by the vastly experienced Jon Rumsey, all came off the bench.
In the second half Solent were able to give a debut to Ian Manley, a student at Southampton University, and bring Liam Openshaw, part of Solent's National Junior Cup winning side, on to show his passing skills.
Scorers: Andy Aung 22, Dave McKay 18, Ryan Payne 13, Clayton Milner 11, Jon Rumsey 9, Craig Dawson 6, James Chubb 2 Liam Wyatt 2.
Solent will now play at home in the first round of the play-offs at Fleming Park at 8 pm on April 2.
The Solent Area Basketball Association will sponsor the game and admission will be free to all locally registered players and under 16s.
