A SCHOOL pupil has been honoured after she raised the most money during a recent charity event.
Stacey Elsden-O'Shea, a Year 8 student at John Hunt of Everest Community School, Popley, Basingstoke, was one of 80 children taking part in a sponsored numeracy lesson.
She raised £33 of the £220 collected in aid of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), making her the top fundraiser.
She was rewarded for her efforts with a box of chocolates and a special badge.
During the sponsored lesson, which took place in December, pupils solved puzzles, took part in quizzes and did some maths tests on the internet.
In addition to this, the school's Young Enterprise group raised £150 through a non-uniform day.
Sally Hedges, head of maths at the school, said: "We are very pleased to have raised this much money."
