TENACIOUS Hampshire rockers Rolling Dog, pictured, bring their feral riffs to The Joiners on Thursday night for a night of bruising indie muse.
The Portsmouth band are busy recording material for a new album having played a triumphant sell-out gig at the city's Wedgewood Rooms last year.
Support slots with Easyworld, The Cosmic Rough Riders, Longview and Chikinki have helped cement the band's growing reputation, while their irresistible indie charm only adds to their appeal.
Matt Woolway (vocals and guitar), Rob Mason (b/vocals and guitar), Jack Stanton (bass), Kev Jubb (piano/organ/ effects and vocals) and Sam Woolway (drums and percussion) all grew up in the city and recorded their first EP, And the Villagers Did Rejoice, in September last year. The eagerly awaited follow up is expected out later this year.
The gig starts at 8pm.
SLEEPY Christchurch, not exactly the first place that springs to mind when you're thinking of prominent south coast bands, but Cellar Door are doing their bit to buck that trend with their luscious riffs. The band plays The Central in Poole on Wednesday.
SOUTHAMPTON'S Kumiss support Harsh at The Joiners on Sunday. The two bands will also be joined by Aunt Stellar. The gig starts at 8pm. Kumiss have another gig lined up at The Joiners in June.
