DETECTIVES investigating the 'body in the Rolls-Royce' riddle want to build up a picture of the Hampshire businessman's movements on Saturday night.
The investigation, codenamed Operation Oryx, has been switched to Eastleigh police station from the major crime department based at the police's western division headquarters in Hulse Road, Southampton.
Det Sgt Phil Jones, of Eastleigh CID, said they wanted to piece together Norman Carlton's movements on Saturday evening. These investigations will involve talking to those who were close to 53-year-old Mr Carlton.
His body was discovered in the open boot of his champagne-coloured luxury car, which was parked outside Eastleigh civic offices, by a friend on Sunday morning. Det Sgt Jones said: "Investigations are continuing and we are waiting for the full toxicology report."
It was understood that Mr Carlton ran the Call Carlton limousine hire company, based in Derby Road, Eastleigh.
The Rolls-Royce, which had a personalised number plate, was reversed against a hedge near the former magistrates' court building in a car park opposite the civic offices in Leigh Road.
Police say that they are not seeking anybody else in connection with the death.
An inquest into Mr Carlton's death was expected to be opened today.
