SCHOOL pupils in Eastleigh are getting active thanks to a national scheme which gives them free sports activities.
Children at Nightingale Primary School are taking part in a five-week activity programme thanks to money from Aviary Residents' Association and Eastleigh Borough Council.
The scheme is part of a national 'Adopt a School' initiative with Norwich Union, to encourage children to get active and get to know the benefits of regular exercise.
Fleming Park Leisure Centre has provided free facilities to the school, and events will be held there until the Easter break.
The programme allows the pupils to try out a variety of activities, including junior body jam, aerobics, tri-golf and trampolining.
