A Winchester nursery is celebrating after being officially recognised for its high standards by a national body.
The Riverside Nursery School, which is based at Winchester City Football Club, in Hillier Way, has been accredited by the Pre-School Learning Alliance.
Staff passed a rigorous assessment process lasting more than a year.
Winchester mayor Cecily Sutton visited the nursery school to help staff and youngsters celebrate their success.
Nursery manager Beverly Feeney said: "This award is proper recognition for the very high standards in education and care we give children."
The Riverside Nursery School opened in September 2002 and provides pre-school education for children aged two to five.
