LYMINGTON & New Milton leapt to the top of the SWL Division 1 table last night with a 2-0 home victory against Alton Town.
But manager Ian Robinson was in no mood for celebrating.
"It was a very lacklustre and flat performance," sighed Robinson, pictured.
"If we've got any pretentions of winning this league then we've got to do a lot better than we did tonight or we won't be at the top for very long."
After half an hour of bombarding the Alton goal, the Linnets finally made their breakthrough on 32 minutes when Peter Smith slotted his shot under the keeper.
The home side sealed victory midway through the second half when Kev James engineered himself some space on the edge of the penalty area to fire home.
