A CHARITY dedicated to preventing young people dying from a heart problem has been praised by New Forest MP Julian Lewis on its tenth anniversary.
Cardiac Risk for the Young (CRY) wants anyone with symptoms of sudden adult cardiac death syndrome - or a family history of it - referred to a specialist, and screening for relatives of anyone under 35 who died of the
condition. Mr Lewis took up the cause after the death of Dibden Purlieu resident Adrian Woodhead's wife, Sarah, aged just 28, in 1997.
The condition also killed schoolboy Philip Abraham, 16, of Bitterne, prompting his mum Mary to begin campaigning. Mr Lewis has signed a House of Commons early day motion supporting the Postcard Campaign.
