FORDINGBRIDGE Show will not be held this year but will go ahead in 2006, according to the show society's new president Melanie Wallace.
Melanie took the reins at the society's annual meeting after Roger Pell-Stevens resigned the position, saying there were too
few people on the show committee.
For the past two years the agricultural show, traditionally held on the second Saturday in July at Arniss Farm, Godshill, had been extended from one to two days.
A change of venue to Fording-bridge recreation ground in order to bring it closer to residents was dropped because of a lack of parking.
Melanie, a mature forestry management student, said there would be no early decisions and no rush to get new committee members.
"We had a very successful show last year, but we're not getting the people through the gate," she said.
"We're certainly in the black, but the gate figures were not what we'd been hoping for last year, so we've got to review the scale of the show.''
