FOR the fourth year running, Southampton Trailblazers Basketball Club are celebrating a cash boost from the RAF Careers Club Development Fund.
Without it, club secretary Trevor Gill believes many local youngsters would lose out on their chance to get involved in the sport.
He said: "As a club we are committed to providing local players with an affordable opportunity to play competitive basketball.
"This year we have added an under-16s team - something which may not have been possible without the continued financial support of the RAF."
The RAF sent along a local Armed Forces careers officer Neal Stacey to hand over a £825 cheque to the Blazers at their team training session at Eastleigh College.
Southampton will used the money to subsidise travel costs and venue hire.
The RAF Careers Club Development Fund has been set up as part of the Royal Air Force's overall sponsorship of the National Under-18, 16 and 14 Basketball Leagues.
There main aim to attract new recruits. For more information on careers in the RAF ring 0845 605 5555 or visit www.rafcareers.com
