FORMER BTCC Production Class Championship runner-up Alan Blencowe is flying the flag for Barwell Motorsport in the SEAT Cupra Championship.
It's the third year running that the 27-year-old Salisbury driver has competed for Barwell having enjoyed BTCC success with them in 2003 before sharing a Britcar endurance series Honda Civic with team boss Mark Lemmer last season.
Blencowe will start the year as one of the favourites for the SEAT Cupra title.
This marks a return to the one-make saloon car scene for Barwell Motorsport, who claimed two VW Vento VR6 titles and two top three Vauxhall Vectra SRi V6 spots during the 1990s.
They are planning on fielding another SEAT Cupra alongside Blencowe's car.
Former Barwell driver and new SEAT factory BTCC star, Luke Hines was a team-mate of Barwell in the Touring Car championship and recalled: "Together we totally dominated the Production class."
