Bloc Party, The Pyramids, Portsmouth
AS THEY ended the current part of their British tour before jetting off to Europe and the States, Bloc Party gave a sell-out audience an evening to remember.
The band - with their 2005 take on punk - have already gathered a loyal following and they were happy to party to their frantic beat. The sound quality could have been better but the raw energy and passion of the band was without fault.
Stripped to the waist within minutes of taking to the stage, drummer Matt Tong performed with vibrancy and energy.
Singer Kele Okereke has a distinctive vocal style and the influence of Talking Heads' David Byrne is clear to see.
Their music is raw but robust and their performance has no doubt won them more fans.
