THE BFG - The Big Fat Guide: This is a new and exciting magazine, featuring local entertainment, which is currently being created right here in our own village.
It will cover just about everything that's worth going to see in north east Hampshire and is due to be launched on March 19.
Watch this space to find out what it's all about and where to buy a copy.
POLICE house: The police house in London Road is coming on a treat.
In spite of nearly two weeks of snow, the builders have braved the weather and are finally at the stage of putting on the roof.
It should be finished well before the police are due to move in at the beginning of June.
TENNIS: Hook and Newnham Tennis Club is looking for new members.
Club sessions take place every Thursday evening at the King George V playing fields (just behind the Dorchester Arms).
Once the weather improves and the evenings become light enough, play will start at about 6pm.
There is also an opportunity to play competitively in men's, ladies' and mixed teams in the Basingstoke tennis leagues.
For more information, call 764843.
VOLUNTEERS: Like many of our local institutions, the community hall is run by volunteers.
The Hook Village Community Association looks after all the clubs and events that use the hall, and is always looking for people with new ideas - or ways in which things can be improved.
If you wish to know more about one of Hook's most important organisations, why not go to the AGM on Thursday?
It starts at 8pm in the small hall at the community centre.
