CHANGES: It was incredible how many costume changes the leading man made during the Olde Tyme Music Hall event last Saturday evening.
He was very funny, especially during his policeman routine where he coped wonderfully with barracking from the floor.
The majority of the audience were in Edwardian attire. Those who came "as is" were left wishing they had made an effort!
The hall was packed to capacity, with more than half the audience coming from outside Ellisfield.
The winners of the best costume prizes came from Crowthorne and Alton, although, personally, I thought Susie's outfit deserved a prize and Doreen's flower hat was really something to behold.
Well done to Roger for organising the evening.
Perhaps next time more Ellisfield residents will wake up to what's on their own doorstep!
FOURTH Year: Despite the slippery conditions, there was a reasonable turnout at the volunteer group's AGM and social on Monday.
It was interesting to note that, over the last three years, the group has saved Ellisfield council tax-payers the grand sum of £3,739, when compared with the parish council's budget for a contractor.
The current committee were all voted back in, with the exception of myself.
Having been chairman since the group's founding, I decided that being a volunteer this year was what I really wanted.
After the meeting, some excellent wine was enjoyed, together with a good spread of cheeses, hot quiches and pat.
MEETING: The parish council meets next Monday, starting at 7.30pm.
