MORE than 500 people flocked to a star-studded regional film premiere backed by the Daily Echo yesterday afternoon.
Southampton's Leisure World screened the new animated adventure Robots to help raise more than £3,000 for Southampton-based charity Leukaemia Busters.
Celebrities attending included Saints players Antti Niemi and Claus Lundekvam, cricket legend David Gower and BBC wildlife expert Chris Packham.
Pop band Freefaller and Becki from last year's Big Brother both performed at the pre-film party held at Jumpin' Jaks.
Saints goalkeeper Antti Niemi said: "It's lovely. The best part of it is helping the charity. I have two healthy kids so when you think about what some parents and their children are going through, it's a really good cause."
David Gower, former England cricket captain and patron of the charity, said: "Leukaemia Busters is a really worthy cause. They are still working hard to find a cure for something that affects far too many people."
All proceeds from the premiere went to the Southampton-based charity dedicated towards the development of new antibody-based drugs for children with currently incurable forms of leukaemia.
