A BID by campaign group Fathers 4 Justice to prevent access to Southampton's Labour Party office was thwarted today - when activists glued the wrong lock.
The city's two MPs, John Denham and Alan Whitehead, faced a short delay after arriving at the Southampton Street premises to find one of two door-locks jammed full of superglue.
Southampton Itchen MP Mr Denham headed to a nearby caf to conduct a meeting after finding the damage when he arrived at about 8.50am.
Mr Whitehead, MP for Southampton Test, was then delayed about five minutes before a member of staff arrived with a key for the second lock and let him in.
A spokesman for Fathers 4 Justice, a protest group which campaigns for divorced fathers' rights, said the stunt was part of a nationwide campaign, targeting MPs and social services offices.
