If you're too late to enter the B&Q Eastleigh 10k Road Race on Sunday week (March 13), Southampton can offer a good alternative the following weekend.
The popular Two Saints 10k - formerly known as St Dismas - starts at 10am on Sunday, March 20, catering for both serious athletes and fun runners.
Like the Eastleigh race, the Two Saints event is celebrating its 21st anniversary and to mark the occasion all finishers will receive a piece of cake.
The course, centred around the Portswood/Southampton Common area, combines road running with metalled paths on the common - the outward course being predominantly uphill with a fast return.
All proceeds will go directly to the Two Saints Housing Association to further their work with homeless people.
Entry fees are £7 for affiliated runners and £8 for unaffiliated runners - or £1 extra if entering on the day. Late entries will be taken at Mount Pleasant School in Bevois Valley up to 9.30am on the day.
