Gary Emerson stopped a run of four successive missed cuts when he made it through to the final stages of the Dubai Desert Classic.

But there was heartbreak for Southampton's Richard Bland, who missed out by one shot after a brave fight to grab a share of the big money being offered at the Emerates Club.
