ANDOVER detectives are appealing for witnesses to an attempted burglary in Eastfield Road between 7am and 5:30pm on Thursday.
A detached property had a conservatory window smashed by the raiders, who failed to get in but caused considerable damage as attempts were made to smash other panes of glass.
Police believe the offenders climbed over a locked gate at the side of the property, which also caused damage to timber by the gate.
Officers also believe an attempt was made to enter the property through the front door as damage was caused to plaster around the door frame.
The offenders are likely to have made some noise in their attempts and police are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything to contact them. They are particularly keen to hear from workmen who were on a nearby property in East Street.
