LEISURE chiefs in Southampton are offering the chance for city youngsters who are keen on sport to tap into a fund to help in their training.
The Sports Development Unit at Southampton City Council has funds available for children aged between five and 13 who want to access sports activities across the city. The cash is available for subscription fees, travel expenses and equipment which can help young people get involved in healthy activities.
Kevin Harris, sports development officer, said: "There are so many children out there who cannot access sports clubs due to cost implications such as travel, equipment and subscription fees."
