SHANE WARNE will be expecting to claim his 1000th first class victim when he plays for Victoria against Queensland in the Pura Cup tomorrow.
The Hampshire captain has 995 first class wickets at 25.96 and is close to joining Martin Bicknell, Philip De Freitas and Mushtaq Ahmed as one of the few current players to have reached the landmark.
Victoria's match against a Queensland side likely to include former Hampshire all rounder Shane Watson will be Warne's last in the Pura Cup before Australia begin their Test series against New Zealand.
The first Test takes place in Christchurch starting next Thursday.
Meanwhile, Warne has confirmed he won't be playing in any future tsunami charity matches this summer.
He was originally pencilled in to play in a match in Sri Lanka on April 23 - which would have seen him miss Hampshire's championship match at Sussex.
But the charity event has now been cancelled, with Warne insisting he won't play in any games that interfere with his Rose Bowl commitments.
