FOR the third year running, popular French cabaret artiste Monique comes to the Plaza Theatre, Romsey for an evening of Anglo-French music fusing jazz, world music and Gallic songs.
Monique's latest show, which you can see at the Plaza on Saturday, March 19, is entitled A French Affair and sees the chanteuse performing the classic songs of Aznavour, Piaf, Legrand and others, as well as new songs she has composed in collaboration with songwriter Robb Johnson.
Adding to the show's international feel, the evening will also includes songs from Corsica.
Monique's musicians are a cabaret turn in their own right and, like her, have received glowing reviews in the national and entertainment press.
Nigel Jones is musical director on piano, with Jerome Davies on double bass and trumpet, and Dominic Grant on guitar. All three are world-class musicians now firmly established on the UK music scene.
A French Affair has already enjoyed great success on tour and has been featured on BBC Radio 2 and Radio 4.
Monique's latest album, entitled On the Boulevard des Hommes, has received many accolades and Monique is currently preparing a new album entitled Paris Life, which is due for release later this year.
