THREE of Britain's best glam rock bands are coming to Bournemouth's Pavilion Theatre on March 17.

On one amazing bill, The Sweet, The Rubettes and Sailor will be putting on a sensational show, taking you back to the very best of glam rock for the ultimate 70s experience.

The Sweet made some of the most enduring and influential music of that era and have sold more than 30 million records, including their smash hit number one, Blockbuster.

Formed in 1968 it wasn't long before the quintessential 70s glam rock band were putting out hits like Ballroom Blitz, Teenage Rampage, Wig Wam Bam and the outrageous Hellraiser. Regular appearances on Top of the Pops helped to secure The Sweet's place as an integral part of the glam rock era.

The Rubettes burst on to the scene in 1974 when their debut single, Sugar Baby Love, spent five weeks at number one.

Hits followed during the mid-70s with Tonight, Juke Box Jive and I Can Do It all finding their way into the top ten. By 1977 the band had recorded eight albums, producing 15 chart hits.

Sailor were one of the most exciting and original bands of the 1970s. Their distinctive records and superb vocal harmonies meant they were regulars on Top of the Pops and Mike Mansfield's Supersonic.

Hits including Girls Girls Girls, and the classic A Glass of Champagne established Sailor as one of the most successful acts of the era.

Glitz, Blitz and 70s Hitz is at the Pavilion Theatre on March 17. Contact the box office on 0870 111 3000 for ticket details.
