Jackson's Way, Winchester Theatre Royal
MEET Chris John Jackson, the man who finds motivation from a sandwich box and unfathomable happiness from a sweaty hand.
Jackson is the character created by Perrier Comedy Award winner Will Adamsdale in his latest show, Jackson's Way. A cross between David Brent and George Bush, Jackson is an American life coach who invites his audience into a satirical workshop.
He is the stereotypical self-help guru, from his sharp business suit to his polar-white trainers.
Jackson's Way is hardly a one-man show as the audience is just as much a part of the show as Adamsdale himself. Unsus-pecting audience members are invited to join Jackson in pointless, yet 'motivational' tasks.
Being a fan of dark humour, I found the funniest parts were the tiny glitches in Jackson's faade.
The tiny slithers of insanity and childhood flashbacks provide the real hits of satire towards self-help culture.
