FOUR swimmers from the City of Southampton Swimming Club cashed in when competing at the Wycombe Long Distance Level One Open Meet.
There was a monetary reward for the top three placings in the final of each event.
Chris Jones stormed to victory in the open men's 50m breaststroke, winning £40, and also won bronze in the 100m breaststroke, collecting a further £10. Jones was fourth in the 200m breaststroke and 50m freestyle finals.
Gail Strobridge also collected £40 by winning the women's open 200m breaststroke. She took bronze in the 200 IM, 100m breaststroke and 400m IM, winning £10 each time.
Charlotte Slater, 14, competed in several open events, finishing second in the 200m butterfly (£20), setting a national qualifying time, and third in the 400m freestyle (£10). She was fourth in the 800m freestyle.
In the boys' 10-12 year age group, Sebastian Willcocks, 12, also reached several finals. He was second in the 50m freestyle and third in the 100m freestyle, collecting £8 in vouchers.
Other swimmers also swam well, achieving many personal best times. For many it was their first Level 1 competition.
Kirsty Ledingham, 15, was ninth in 100m butterfly and set personal best times in 50m freestyle and butterfly.
Natasha Day, 15, swam a personal best time in the 100m butterfly while Emily Webber, 14, achieved a personal best in the 50m breaststroke.
Joanne Oliver, 14, also swam well for a personal best in 50m freestyle.
Jaffa Cole competed well and swam to personal best times in the 200m IM and 100m backstroke.
Abigail Slater, 11, clocked personal bests in four races - 100m breaststroke, 100m backstroke, 200m IM and 100m freestyle.
Five city swimmers travelled to Portsmouth for the recent South Coast Junior meet and took nine medals, top-six placings and nine personal bests, despite one swimmer returning home unwell after race one.
Sebastian Willcocks, 12, finished second in each of his five races and collected two personal best times. He competed in the 200m individual medley, 100m and 200m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 100m butterfly.
Leah Husband, 12, was third in the 100m breaststroke, fifth (personal best) in 100m freestyle and fifth in the 200m individual medley. Her other races were the 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle.
The 13 years age group saw Kayleigh Meager produce excellent swims and numerous personal best times.
She started with an outstanding personal best by some 16 seconds in the 200m freestyle. Her other best times were in the 200m individual medley, 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke.
Verity Walshaw again swam well to set personal bests in the 200m freestyle and 100m backstroke.
Her other races were in the 100m breaststroke and 100m freestyle.
Alice Bessey achieved a personal best time in the 100m butterfy. She also swam in the 100m and 200m freestyle, 200m individual medley and 100m breaststroke.
