SPRING has come early to the residential property market with the launch of April Cottage in Cliddesden village.
The thatched, listed property dates back to around 1690 and stands at the end of a terrace of period homes in Farleigh Road.
It is selling through agents Lane Fox with a price guide of £275,000.
The cottage is located in a conservation area and its original features include exposed timbers, latched doors and a brick fireplace in the sitting room.
The beamed dining room opens to a galley-style kitchen and a door opens to the stairs to the two first-floor bedrooms.
April Cottage is a snug, character home which has a large upstairs bathroom, with a corner shower cubicle, and a downstairs cloakroom.
A terrace at the back has steps to a tiered garden, laid with paths, gravel, flower and shrub beds, and a pergola. There is also a greenhouse and storage shed.
The cottage overlooks fields and is said by Lane Fox to be "delightful", as well as "a charming Grade II listed, end-of-terrace period cottage close to the centre of this popular village".
Cliddesden is about three-and-a-half miles from the centre of Basingstoke, giving good access to the motorway network for London and the south coast.
