SOUTHAMPTON Running Club's Simon Plummer has won his first Scotland senior vest for next month's World Championship 4K Cross-Country Trials at Nottingham's Wollaton Park.
Plummer grabbed the selectors' attention with an outstanding run in the Reebok Cross series at Cardiff in January and must stand a great chance of further international honours on the track this summer.
Clubmate Kaye Harwood is also making a name for herself. She posted a personal best time of 36min 39sec in the Burton-on-the-Water 10k Road Race to move herself into the top 25 women in Britain this year.
Three SRC Army members took part in the British Army Cross-Country Championships at Sandhurst. Debbie Coslett was third in the women's race and Mark Campbell and Dave Branfoot finished fourth and seventh respectively for the men.
