WHITCHURCH Town Association has had to delay a public meeting due to be held on Wednesday because of a new challenge.

The meeting at the Town Hall was due to elect officers and adopt a formal constitution.

But planning was approved for the new community hall and with it came the suggestion that the group responsible for the implementation of the Town's Action Plan - the association - consider working alongside those who are taking on the responsibility for the new building.

Harriet Titcomb, acting chairman said: "At our meeting on 8 February we agreed in principle to proceed along these lines since much of the work potentially overlaps. It means we will need to think about the most appropriate form of constitution for the wider group."

A new date is expected by the end of April.
