HOWEVER HARD they fought, Swaythling could not prevent a one-sided encounter against Fleming Park.
Fleming looked sharp and strong as they nursed the baby of the team, shooter Chelsea Prout, through the first quarter.
The Swaythling defence proved extremely strong in the first quarter and shut the Fleming attack down well.
Their skill level was not as high as Fleming Park but Swaythling never gave up. They showed a willingness to listen to their coach and try to correct their mistakes.
Fleming were frustrated in the first couple of minutes when they could not shoot a goal because of the extremely windy conditions.
They could not get their eye in at this point.
Swaythling's fighting spirit also helped them turn over some goals.
In the end Fleming won 48-8 but both teams produced their moments of excellent netball.
