DIVISION 2 strugglers Fawley and Bishop's Waltham both eased their relegation worries last night with impressive away wins.

"Our best performance of the season," was how Fawley manager Kev Dawtry rated his side's 2-0 victory at fifth-placed Romsey Town.

Fawley took the lead after 30 minutes when Ian Moore scrambled the ball home following a Luke Walker corne.

The Oilers made the points safe ten minutes from time, Matt Davidson's through ball putting Luke Atkinson away to score.

Third from bottom Bishop's Waltham had Alan Miles sent off for a professional foul midway through the first half at Brading but still managed to secure a 3-2 verdict.

The Bishops had taken a 20th minute lead through Luke Musselwhite, only for Miles to be red-carded when he dragged down Brading's Richie Woodburn with only the keeper to beat.

Danny Hooker equalised for the Islanders on 50 minutes before Mitchell Day turned in the area to fire them in front some 15 minutes later.

But David Sims levelled for the battling Bishops after 74 minutes and, with five minutes remaining, the ten men grabbed all three points when Chris Yoxall poked the ball home following a goalmouth scramble.

A frozen pitch at Hamworthy United caused the postponement of their Wessex League Cup semi-final first leg against Gosport Borough.

And SWL fixture secretary Malcolm Watts is not pleased.

"It's given me a serious problem because Hamworthy are playing Sherborne in the Dorset Senior Cup next Tuesday while Gosport already have three cup semi-final dates scheduled in March," explained Watts.

"They've the Russell Cotes Cup semi on March 15 and a two-legged Hampshire Senior Cup semi against Winchester City on March 10 and 22, so I'm really struggling to find a date."
