YOUNGSTERS have been learning all about fire prevention as part of a junior warden scheme.
Fifty-eight children aged between eight and 12 were taught by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service about the importance of a safe, clean community and the dangers of starting fires.
It formed part of Southampton City Council's junior neighbourhood warden scheme.
The day began with graffiti removal and litter picking then the children went on to the information session at Hightown fire station.
The junior neighbourhood warden scheme was started in 2002 as an attempt to help tackle antisocial behaviour.
