CNA INSURANCE held a party for local brokers and VIPs to mark the opening of its new Southampton office.
The office at Southampton International business Park was opened to cash in on the success of the port and the region's maritime businesses.
A maritime specialist, American owned CNA is ultimately aiming to broaden its offering in Southampton.
Saints fan and a graduate of both Southampton Institute and Southampton University, development underwriter Alan Wilkins is heading up the new office.
He said: "The overwhelming philosophy of the company is to get closer to our customer base. We like to offer a local service.
"This location allows you to create a marine insurance market. Southampton has traditionally been ignored.
"The hope is to develop this into a multi-line office, not just marine insurance, which we are trying to use as a springboard."
