Fareham'S 6-3 defeat by Gore Court has bunkered coach Nigel Cook's long-awaited South African golfing holiday.
The Bath Lane frontman is spending ten days fine tuning his match-play on some of the Cape's finest fairways.
But his holiday mood was tempered by a fourth successive South Premier League, Division 2 reverse.
Craig Peel (2) and Scott Shirley scored for Fareham, who have slipped back into mid-table mediocrity since South African Scott Barton returned to Durban.
But Fareham's 2nd XI reversed a 2-0 interval deficit to bolster their South Open League survival chances with a 3-2 win over City of Portsmouth, in which Mark Dixon (2) and Danny Morgan scored.
