THERE were top awards for City of Southampton swimmers at their popular 5th Sprint Open Meet held at The Quays.
Sebastian Willcocks (12) won the top boy award in his age group after wins in the 50m freestyle (29.26), 100m IM (1.13.36), 50m backstroke (33.18), and 50m butterfly (31.93).
He was also second in the 50m breaststroke (39.66).
In the 13-year age group, Hayley Couchman collected the top girl award and set new meet records in both the backstroke and individual medley events.
She won the 100m IM (1.11.12), 50m breaststroke (36.57), 50m backstroke (32.68) and 50m butterfly (31.76). She also came second in the 50m freestyle (28.92).
Gail Strobridge also collected top female award and smashed the breaststroke meet records in the over-16 year age group.
She won all her events - the 50m freestyle (28.08), 50m backstroke (31.87), 100m IM (1.10.27), 50m butterfly (30.51) and 50m breaststroke (35.52).
She was also second in the skins event.
In the over 16-year boys age group, City had a collection of swimmers.
Chris Jones won the top male award and collected two meet records - in the individual medley and, bettering his own record last year, in the breaststroke event.
Chris won the 50m breaststroke (29.83) and 100m IM (1.00.71).
He also won bronze in the 50m freestyle (24.83) and 50m backstroke (29.20).
He was second in the skins event.

Alex Cameron collected two meet records in the freestyle and backstroke events. He would have won top boy award but for the fact he was too fast in the butterfly event. He won the 50m backstroke, 38.99, and 50m freestyle, 33.63, and silver in the 50mbreaststroke, (38.99.
15-year girls
Hannah Glasspool (gold in the 50m backstroke, 34.25, sixth in the 50m freestyle, 30.99, eighth in the 50m butterfly, 35.01.
Lucy Smith (bronze in the 50m butterfly, 34.11, seventh in the 100m IM, 1.21.65, and 50m breaststroke, 42.16, eighth in the 50m backstroke, 37.13.
14-year girls
Charlotte Slater (gold in the 50m backstroke, 33.40, silver in the 50m butterfly, 30.88 and 50m freestyle, 28.91, third in the 100m IM, 1.12.56.
Joanna Jeffcoate (gold in the 100m IM, 1.09.71, third in the 50m butterfly, 32.02, and 50m breaststroke, 37.02, fourth in the 50m backstroke, 33.97, fifth in the 50m freestyle, 29.41.
