Sir.-We are delighted to announce that the John Hunt of Everest Community School Steel Pans Band raised more than £300 on Sunday, February 6, at Festival Place in Basingstoke.
Shoppers gathered around to hear them throughout the day - they played all day, from 11am to 5pm!
The staff and students at John Hunt would like to thank everyone for giving so generously.
In addition, we would like to extend our thanks to Festival Place management for their support and patience.
It was a great experience for the band (pictured) and we look forward to being invited back.
The funds raised by the students will be matched by the staff at John Hunt.
