ROMAN talk: There are still a few tickets left for next Friday, February 25, when you can hear Professor Michael Fulford give details of last year's dig.
The evening starts at 7.30pm for 8pm, in the hall.
Tickets cost £3, and are available by calling Tony on 0118 9700282.
LENT: There are no Lent courses in Silchester this year, but we do have the 21st anniversary of the Palm Sunday Walk to look forward to.
More details on this in a future column.
SPRATS: Meet next Wednesday, from 9.45am, for a short play and prayer meeting.
This is led by Noreen Smith, and is especially for pre-school-age children and their parents or carers.
Do come along, see a film, sing songs and make a mess.
WOMEN'S World Day of Prayer: On March 4, at Tadley Common Methodist Church, for our area.
The service is planned by the women of Poland for this year.
CONGRATULATIONS: To Evelyn Woodall, of Mothes House, and a member of Silchester Phoenix Club, after her appearance on TV last week, accompanied by the "Garden Invaders".
Evelyn, at more than 90 years old, will put most of us amateur gardeners to shame.
