HEARD of Sir Guy Dawber?
This amazing British artist and architect was responsible for a number of arts and crafts country houses dotted across the country as well as a church in Derbyshire and the Reptile House at London Zoo.
You can even go for a holiday in one of his houses.
As well as these, he was also responsible for our local landmark of Lord Wandsworth College.
Hook Local History Group is holding a talk, on Monday, on the work of Sir Guy Dawber.
It will be given by a former pupil of the college, Laurie Kinney, and starts at 8pm, at St John's Church.
Entrance costs £2, and all are welcome.
APART from this it seems to be a pretty quiet week in Hook.
Quiet, that is, except for the birds.
If you get a moment to stroll along the path which runs behind the Sacred Heart Church, or if you are lucky enough to have the excuse of sitting in the children's park, keep an eye out for the thrushes.
On a warm spring day you can see more than 20 of them feeding on the ivy berries in the trees.
