FLORAL society: There was a good attendance at the Bramley and Romans Floral Society's AGM on February 4.
Sibyl Wood took the chair, and minutes of the 26th AGM were agreed and signed.
The chairman and treasurer's reports for 2004 were given.
At the election of officers, Mrs Wood was re-elected chairman and Ilene Iles, secretary.
Some committee posts were filled but at least two more members were needed and it was agreed to try to fill these at the next meeting.
On the financial side the chairman pointed out that it was necessary to increase the subscription due to the rising costs of flowers, demonstrators' fees and other overheads.
Fundraising evenings in 2004 had added £660 to the funds, and all who had helped raise this large amount were thanked.
For 2005 there would be only one fundraising event - an art and craft show, to be held on June 25, in Sherfield-on-Loddon.
The society is also expected to assist at the music festival in St James' Church in July.
The officers and committee were thanked for all their hard work throughout the year.
The season of demonstrations starts on March 4, with Keri Harvey's "Floristry and Balloons".
PARISH council: The council will meet on Monday, at 7.30pm, in the village hall.
Members of the public are welcome, and the agenda includes a 10-minute session when you are permitted to speak.
