A man has been helping police in connection with an incident in which a woman was threatened with a knife.
The 23-year-old, who lives in Winchester, was arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon and assault.
However, officers are still asking for anyone who may have seen what they call the "potentially-serious" incident, in Sparkford Road, Winchester, on Saturday, January 29th, to come forward.
A 45-year-old woman was approached by a man at around 11pm as she walked along the road, accompanied by her family after they had been out for the evening.
As they passed by, he pulled out a knife with a three-inch blade and held it up to the woman while making threats.
After the man was challenged by her son, he walked into Erskine Road.
If you think you can help the police, ring Winchester police station on 0845-0454545 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555111.
